Jessika Tejada

My name is Jessika Tejada, a Hispanic who came to the United States from Peru 24 years ago. With three beautiful daughters who are my greatest pride and motivation, my life as an immigrant has had its ups and downs, but I always kept two clear dreams: to see my daughters become professionals in this country and have my own house. Thank God, the first one is coming true, and in February 2021, He blessed my life with the acquisition of my home.

During 2020, while working at Home Depot, I came across a kitchen cabinet magazine during my break. Fascinated by beautiful kitchens, I began envisioning my own space and exploring options online. Despite obstacles and initial refusals from some real estate agents, my determination and faith in God propelled me forward. Finally, I found a Hispanic ally who helped me explore new construction, and with tenacity and hard work, I got a loan approved and completed the necessary paperwork, even overcoming legal obstacles during the pandemic.

The most amazing thing about this process was the perfect timing of each step, as if God had laid out a detailed plan for me. This experience inspired me to want to be that help for other Hispanics, as they were for me. Now, as a real estate agent, I want to put my skills at the service of my community, guiding others in the process of achieving their dreams of owning a home, just like I did.
